Frequently Asked Questions

  • We recommend that puppies begin their grooming experience after they have received their second round of vaccinations. Following this introduction, it is ideal to schedule grooming appointments every 2 to 3 weeks. Typically, it is best for puppies to have 2 to 3 grooming sessions before receiving a full groom. This gradual approach helps your puppy become comfortable with the grooming process.

  • Yes! This is a judgment-free grooming environment. We work with dogs who are fearful, anxious, reactive, touch-sensitive, or new to grooming. Tools such as muzzles, handles, or restraints are used only to keep your dog safe and comfortable.

  • Yes, we utilize kennels and crates in our grooming environment. We ensure that each dog has sufficient space to turn around, sit, and lie down comfortably. Kennels and crates are used for several reasons, including when a dog is waiting to be picked up, when a sibling is being groomed at the same time, if a break is needed, or during emergency situations. Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable experience for all pets.

  • Yes, we do kennel/crate dry dogs. Our process involves blow-drying dogs until they are 90–95% dry, always using a happy hoodie if tolerated to provide comfort. After this, dogs are given a short break in a kennel or crate with a fan blowing on them. This allows the dog time to relax and provides the groomer an opportunity to clean up before finishing the grooming session. For dogs who may not tolerate having certain areas such as their head or paws dried, kennel/crate drying helps to complete the process without causing unnecessary stress.

  • Yes, we are a very friendly environment when it comes to muzzles and grooming tools. Muzzles and tools are used as needed and only when tolerated by the dog to ensure the safety of both the pet and the groomer. We strongly encourage muzzle and tool training at home to help create a positive experience for your dog during grooming sessions. • If your dog is severely matted, a shave-down may be the safest and most humane option. We will always communicate with you before proceeding. Dematting is available only when it can be done safely and without causing pain.

  • We require the following vaccinations for all cats and dogs:  Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella/kennel cough. Rabies vaccination is mandated by Kentucky state law for pets four months and older. We strongly encourage clients to follow all vaccination recommendations provided by their veterinarians. Any requests for exemptions from required vaccinations must be accompanied by a note from a veterinary office approving the exemption.
